This heat exchanger has 1 1/4" ports! Why 1 1/4" instead of 1"? So that there is no need to reduce the inside boilers piping! Most home boilers have 1 1/4" copper pipe. No other sellers offer 1 1/4" pipe fittings! You will need to reduce the wood stove back to 1".
The most important thing is the length and width of the heat exchanger. Ours are 12 inches. This is important as it has the most heat transfer area. Sizing is not just about the amount of plates, but also the area for heat transfer!
The port size is important! Most furnaces use 1" tubing, so make sure you are not buying 3/4" ports. This will decrease water flow to the rest of your system. **If there is any question, ALWAYS buy the next size larger. It is always better to have more than enough heat, than not enough! Again, all items above are based on a 12" length and 1 1/4" ports.** This is the best quality on the market for better efficiency and longer life. This item is NIB.
